Description
I chose a lucky day to view the Castillo del Morro lighthouse in Havana Cuba at dawn. On this day, the dawn sky was a delicate pink and blue behind the lighthouse, while it was a dramatic red toward the sunrise. Built by the Spanish colonial government of Cuba in 1845, the 82-foot tower is one of the island's oldest lighthouses, one of its best known, and a symbol of the city. The fortress upon which it is build is much older; it was built 400 years ago to guard the entrance to Havana Harbor.
