Description
Cemeteries are beautiful sanctuaries, and after the last funeral I attended, I got my camera and wandered around the grounds. This statue spoke to me with it's gentle, comforting, demeanor. I hope that it speaks of comfort to you too.

This particular statue is at the Mount Comfort Cemetery in Fairfax County, Virginia. Chartered as a cemetery in 1945, Mount Comfort Cemetery exists on historic property. One of two subdivisions that was originally the Cleish Estate, the land on which we are built was at one time administered by George Washington. Founded on the banks of the Great Huntington Creek by the sons of the Earl of Tankerville, we are situated near Mount Vernon. The 51-acre park is the highest point in Fairfax County.
I hope you will consider acquiring one of my photographs for your personal enjoyment or as a gift.
