The red roof of a rural barn stands out in in the farmer's fields. Shelter from the cold and winter snow. Dusk is approaching and a calm descends on the day. This photograph was taken on a back-country road in a rural portion of Loudoun County, Virginia. I try to capture as many of these scenes as I can because Loudoun is rapidly being developed with suburbs and shopping centers, much of the rural part is disappearing.
