A red barn is the heart of the farm. In the cold gray winter, with remnants of snow on the ground, it is the warm bright center of the farm. This barn is what is left of a farm in Loudoun County, Virginia. The farm has long since been developed into a high end, expensive subdivision. Red is a traditional barn color. The barn remains as a symbol of what was.

Terry Rowe has a lifetime of experience in the arts. She is a creative exploring photography, graphic design, stitchery, jewelry making, and sculpting. One of the original founders of the Del Ray Artisans in Alexandria, Virginia, she has been actively involved in the arts for over twenty years. She recently retired, after 41 years of service, as the Art Director, House Creative Services, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, U.S. House of Representatives.
